Thank You from Anna Krolikowska

Dear friends. I'm Anna Krolikowska and I am your 145th President of the Illinois State Bar Association. It has been an immense pleasure and privilege to serve as your president. I know that the last year has not been easy for many of us, but we have weathered it together in large part due to the wonderful ISBA staff. Presidents come and go, but it is the ISBA staff that keep us constant and keep us together. Our goals over the last year have been to help you, our members not only survive, but to flourish. In order to do that we have focused on our programing. I hope that you have had the opportunity to take advantage of that business institute programing which we offered this year. Our goal there was to help you run your firms, your businesses better. We have also offered programing aimed at helping you improve your life work balance. I specifically say life work versus work life because the life part needs to come first. And to that end, we've offered programing intended to help you improve your resilience as well as to deal with difficulties that arose during the COVID pandemic. We have also conducted an in-depth DEI analysis of the ISBA and its structure. We appreciated the assistance of our outside consultants in that important initiative. The results of that analysis have been released and I know that my successor, President Weiler, will be working on this very important initiative during his year. We were also the first bar association to offer our members a 15% COVID credit on your membership dues. We know that many of you took advantage of that, and we're glad to see that. But we also know that many of you chose this as an opportunity to donate additional funds to the Illinois Bar Foundation. Thank you for that. And we would also like to thank the Illinois Supreme Court and the Chief Justice Anne Burke for their support and friendship of the ISBA, not only over the last year, but for many, many years. Again, thank you for the opportunity to serve as your 145th President. It has been a pleasure and a privilege of a lifetime. I know that I leave Illinois State Bar Association in good hands of my successors, and I know that we all will continue working to make ISBA a more inclusive and better organization. Which serves the needs of our members. Before I say goodbye, I would finally like to thank my husband and my daughter. Last year would have been very different without your support, encouragement, motivation and love. Thank you.
