Daniel Andrews 'fans hysteria’ by talking in terms of life and death: Alan Jones

Victoria is suffering from politicians and health officials who love the “nanny state and the exercise of power,” according to Sky News host Alan Jones.

“Once you start calling in the army, people start getting worried,” Mr Jones said.

Premier Andrews has ordered everyone in Metropolitan Melbourne back into stage three lockdowns for six weeks as he warns Victoria is on the “cusp of a second wave” of the killer coronavirus.

Mr Andrews said every resident in the city would be banned from leaving their home for at least six weeks as his state recorded another 191 cases.

The prime minister has authorised an additional 260 defence force personnel to assist the Victorian government, while 350 and up to 500 ADF members have been deployed to secure the NSW border.

“Victoria is suffering from a dumb premier who thinks he is not, and dumb health officials; some of these people would never get a job in the real world,” Mr Jones said.

Throughout Victoria’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Premier Andrews has “fanned the hysteria by talking constantly in terms of life and death,” according to Mr Jones.

“Do not forget, if you go shopping you will die, but if you go demonstrating under the guise of Black Lives Matter, well that is too difficult to address.”
