I have been visiting several historical places near Medinipur for some time. Now let's visit another place like the same. Wondering where? Grand Canyon of Bengal

On the morning of the 1st of August, the day of friendship, two friends went out to Garhbeta. To reach this place, which is about 50 km away from Medinipur, you can choose bus or train. You can get off at the bus stand or railway station and rent a Toto. Of course, the two of us relied on that bike. And by riding it, we went to Garhbeta in the morning.

We ate luchi & curry for breakfast at Garhbeta and left for Gangani Danga. Leaving the stadium on the right, we reached the famous gorge of Ganagani through the middle of the cashew forest. Surrounded by stunning natural beauty, this canyon is like a mini version of America's Grand Canyon. Gangani instead of Arizona. Shilabati instead of Colorado.

Once upon a time the staircase was built here at the initiative of the local administration and its present condition is very bad. However, these are still accessible to reach the deepest part of Gangani.

According to the Puranas, the Pandavas of the Mahabharata were here for some time during their exile. It is here that Bhima kills the demon Bakasur. There was a fierce battle between the two. As a result of that war, this deep gorge of Ganagani was created.

This Gangani is also historically significant. In the last video, I have talked about Chuyar's rebellion. Anchal Singh, one of the leaders of that Chuyar rebellion, set up camps in the dense Sal forest of Gangani with his party. He fought in a guerrilla style and discomfited the British Rulers. Later Chatra Singh, the king of Bagri, helped in capturing the Anchal Singh & his party. It was in this tumult that the British Rulers hanged Anchal and his disciples.

The state tourism department has come up with various plans to make Ganagani an attractive tourist destination. A place to stay is being created. There are now several small hotels in the vicinity. In winter, many people come here in groups for picnics. You can come in the morning and go back at night. Hope you will enjoy the one-day tour.

It just felt bad to see pieces of broken glass bottles scattered here and there. I request all of you, please do not waste such beautiful places by throwing garbage.
