DHgate unboxing!!! Is DHgate just a massive scam???

So my first impressions of DHgate are not good, at all.

After contacting the seller of the LV bag and raising a dispute, the seller got back me within 40 minutes, which was great. They proposed that I could keep the bag and they would give me a 50% refund, which I agreed to. They then asked me to update the refund agreement, which I have no idea how to do, there is no guidance anywhere on how to do this.

I tried the online chat with DHgate, it didn't work. I tried the chat on Facebook, and all that happens is you get automatic responses trying to sell you stuff, or different people asking what the issue is instead of reading the thread and providing an answer to my query. Up until yesterday, 15.07.21, I was still waiting for them to respond to a message I sent them. They have now stated that they will sort the refund, finally.

Their refund/returns policy seems to pretty dubious, having looked at it properly, I don't think I would be comfortable trusting them with my money in the future. Very disappointed in the shocking customer service.
