BNHA Animatic: Deku is S T I L L Nervous

Ahh you're actually reading the description?? I love you for that!
Are you confused why "you (anata)" is such a big deal? Wanna know the future of this channel? Keep reading!

1) I can't say it enough: Thank you for watching my videos! I'm happy to have met so many other BNHA fans through these animatics. That said, I never meant for this channel to be a BNHA channel. I just wanted to post what I created, and over the summer I had an itch to make a lot of BNHA content. However, with the end of season 3 (and with it, the radio show where this audio comes from), I'm losing a little steam for BNHA stuff (as you could probably tell by the hiatus). When season 4 comes out, I'm sure my love for the series will reignite in full force, but until then, I might create and post some other stuff, and I hope you guys can respect that. If you're here solely for BNHA content, then I'm sorry but this channel may not be the right one for you ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

2) Here's my understanding of the "you (anata)" deal.
In Japan, anata can be polite OR rude depending on the situation. Semantically speaking, anata is one of the most polite forms of "you" (Japan has many different words for "you"), and I believe is pretty safe when addressing someone whose name you don't know or a group of people. However, when you know someone on a more personal level, it's polite and somewhat expected that you refer to said person by their name, (referring to them as "anata" at that point is basically implying that they're a stranger) Because Daiki Yamashita and Yuki Kaji are pretty good friends now, Yamashita-san meant to say "Kaji-san" instead of "anata," and was embarrassed that he referred to him in such a rude, cold way--hence Kaji-san saying "the distance between us has grown" or in other words, "you're treating me like a stranger."

[edit] As some of you have pointed out, sometimes you'll hear Japanese women referring to their husbands as "anata," and in those cases it's meant as "dear" or something similar. I implore you to keep in mind that this audio is a conversation between the //voice actors//, NOT the anime characters. You can ship whatever fictional beings you want, but please please PLEASE do not ship real people.
To iterate, go crazy on the Tododeku if you need, but pleeeeassseee do not ship Daiki Yamashita and Yuki Kaji. I'm happy to explain why shipping real ppl is wrong on SO many levels if you really need me to.
[second edit] If you haven't heard, on 6/23/19, Kaji-san married voice actress Ayana Taketatsu! So if you have a weird, desperate need to ship real people, please ship him and his wife!
