From Triumph to Tragedy

This 6-minute documentary highlights the Carnival Triumph before, during, and after the disaster. From the engine fire at 5:15 AM to 4 days adrift, this short film highlights the events of those days. Special thanks to Nine Inch Nails for releasing Ghosts under Creative Commons to enhance the texture.

Updates: In responses to the many questions below, there's a few things I'd like to address.

1) I regret the title. I wasn't trying to sensationalize the event, it was just a use of alliteration. If you watch the vid, you'll see I pretty much say as much. I tell people who ask it wasn't that big a deal, and sum up the event to "Pampered Camping."

2) Carnival refunded us everything we spent in onboard entertainment (drinks and such, nothing purchased, of course) as well as a full refund. In addition, they gave us a free cruise of equal value and $500/ per person as recompense. They also covered any incidentals in returning home. So, in short, that cruise was free, got another free one and $1,000 for the trouble (between my wife and I). Considering legally they owed us a big fat nothing, I thought it was more than fair.

3) I do not work for nor have ever been in contact with Carnival in regards to any of this (above working out the free cruise stuff, which everyone got). I've cruised with them several times since. So, I'm not getting anything from this (not even paid on views, since I used NIN as the soundscape). This isn't to make Carnival look good or bad, it was just my take on the event.

4) The Music is from Nine Inch Nails' Ghosts Album, which he released under a Creative Commons licence. They're also my favorite band, so between the licencing not being copyright and the feel of the music, I had an easy choice on the soundtrack.
