In January 2022 — Boston police officer
John O'Keefe was found dead in the snow.

His girlfriend Karen Read
was charged with his murder.

The prosecution said she hit him with her car.

The defense said he was beaten
inside the house by other officers
and his body was dragged outside to frame her.

Two trials. Not guilty. June 2025.

Then Karen filed a civil lawsuit against
the Massachusetts State Police,
the Norfolk County DA's office,
and multiple officers —
alleging they fabricated evidence
and framed her.

The lawsuit is still active in 2026.
