Chet Atkins | Mr. Guitar the early years 1950s & 1960s

Chester Burton Atkins (1924 – 2001), AKA "Mr. Guitar" & "The #CountryGentleman, was an American musician, songwriter, and record producer, That helped create a country music style that came to be known as the Nashville sound. Although Chet was primarily known as a guitarist, he played the mandolin, fiddle, banjo, and ukulele too.

Atkins's picking style was inspired by guitarists such as #MerleTravis, #DjangoReinhardt, #GeorgeBarnes, and #LesPaul. His picking style and musicianship brought him admirers from everybody in the country scene. Most of his career was spent at RCA Victor and produced records for artist like #HankSnow, #PorterWagoner, #DollyParton, #PerryComo, #ElvisPresley, #theEverlyBrothers, #EddyArnold, #JerryReed, #WaylonJennings, and many others.

Through out Atkins career he received 14 #GrammyAwards and the #GrammyLifetimeAchievementAward Nine #CountryMusicAssociation awards for Instrumentalist of the Year. He was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, the #CountryMusicHallofFame and Museum, and the #MusiciansHallofFame.
