Enrolling a PowerG CO Detector to a Qolsys IQ Panel 2 Plus
In this video, Joe from Alarm Grid shows you how to enroll a PowerG Carbon Monoxide Detector with a Qolsys IQ Panel 2 Plus System. These sensors can be auto-enrolled with the Qolsys IQ Panel 2 Plus. This lets you make sure that the wireless sensor is communicating with the IQ Panel 2 Plus correctly.
There are many advantages to using PowerG Carbon Monoxide Sensors with the Qolsys IQ Panel 2 Plus. For one, these sensors have a very impressive wireless range. They can be used from up to 2,000 feet away from the system in an open-air environment. They also utilize 128-bit AES encryption in all their wireless communication. This makes these sensors nearly impossible for others to hack or takeover wirelessly. They are also immune to any RF jamming techniques that could disable other sensors.
Enrolling carbon monoxide sensors with your Qolsys IQ Panel 2 Plus Alarm System is very important. This is the best way to be notified in the event of a carbon monoxide outbreak. This gas is odorless and tasteless, and even a small amount of exposure can cause serious problems. Most CO outbreaks occur during the winter months when heating systems are used in the home. However, an outbreak can occur during any time of the year due to faulty appliances or careless mistakes like leaving a car running in an enclosed garage.
You will also want to make sure that your Qolsys IQ Panel 2 Plus is monitored, preferably with central station service. This is the only way for you to receive automatic emergency dispatch in the event of a carbon monoxide alarm. A central station operator will know to send out emergency personnel as soon as a CO alarm comes through. Carbon monoxide alarms are taken very seriously due to the extremely dangerous nature of CO gas.
