if you cannot learn from your mistakes you aren't trying hard enough .
that being said i made a few mistakes with tig #1 i should have checked the temperature since i was welding directly on plastic . Short arc mig would have been better . #2 i should have simply removed the blade from the boot before working on it but i didn't want to deal with the rivets .and figured i could weld it with out having to many issues .
#3 i should have stoped as soon as i had issues with getting the tungsten stuck on the 3rd little weld as it was an uncomfortable position and the ground clamp was in my way .
regardless i should have been able to weld this with out getting my tungsten stuck in the material .
#4 the boot and blade are not actually damaged just the the plastic under the heel is little burned lol .
I will be trying this again but this time with a different approach .I do not plan on removing the blade from the boot . but this time monitoring the temp of the blade so as it will not cause the plastic to melt.
