The Non-Canon Expert examines the history of Darth Vader's search for the perfect Imperial starfighter, a search that would allow Sienar Fleet Systems to develop and produce the TIE Advanced x1 variant, and then describes why Vader would have piloted another TIE variant by the time of the Original Trilogy and Galactic Civil War had everything gone as it should and Grand Admiral Thrawn stayed within the Empire!

This is a Canon story for Darth Vader, Grand Admiral Thrawn and the starfighters of the Empire, with information found within a number of Canon materials, but primarily the "Star Wars: TIE Fighter Owners' Workshop Manual" and the novel "Star Wars: Thrawn: Alliances" by Timothy Zahn.
