Maubuisson, Lacanau, Carcans Plage, Arcachon, Dune du Pilat, raw 4k footage from Olympus E-M10 MK IV
In this video you can see raw 4k video footage taken directly from an Olypmus E-M10 MK IV with no post-processing applied - straight out of the camera. I trimmed the original MOV video clips losslessly using Avidemux and then concatenated them losslessly. The slideshow at the beginning of the video has been created separately with matching video properties and then added via lossless concatenation. The new sound track has been assembled according to the final video's length and has then been losslessly multiplexed with it while replacing the original (rather poor) camera sound.
No gimbal or tripod has been used thoughout, everything has been shot hand-held either while standing, walking or cycling. All camera adjustments necessary to get the correct exposure (aperture, shutter speed, focus, custom white balance) have been done manually while shooting, thus, no colour correction/grading, exposure correction, sharpening, de-shaking has been applied. The camera was set to manual mode. Most of my lenses are already fully manual to begin with.
The footage should gives a good overview over the camera's and the lens's capabilities regarding resolution, image stabilization, chromatic aberration and low-light perdormance. During the evening shots, I could get away with a max. of ISO 800 at a shutter speed of 25 fps thanks to the remarkable aperture of the Mitakon Speedmaster (f0.95). Minimum aperture used was around 1.4, though, in order to get at least a tiny bit of depth of field.
Lenses used:
- Olympus M.Zuiko 12-40 mm f2.8 Pro
- Olympus 40-150 mm f3.5-4.5 (from 2003, FourThirds mount; FT-to-MFT mount adapter used)
- Laowa 7.5 mm f2
- Laowa 17 mm f1.8
- Mitakon Speedmaster 25 mm f0.95
As an off-topic treat you will witness several TGV's at speed, coasting with their pantographs down at the Ambarès-et-Lagrave phase break (kilometer 299.1 of the LGV Sud Europe Atlantique connecting Tours and Bordeaux). The train driver has to switch main power off and switch the power head's current from 25 kV AC on the LGV to 1.5 kV DC on the converntional line. Lowering and lifting process of the panthographs can be seen on the multiple units.
Enjoy!
