Givenergy AC 3K with 5.2kWh home/solar battery review

Update: 2 days after filming this the inverter and battery have been upgraded to version 531. Charging and discharging rates have been reduced at the top and bottom SOC to maximise capacity but this will of course limit usability and increase chsrhing timing. Have 10% of the usable battery or more only able to charge discharge at 1100w/600w isn't ideal.

The upgrade itself took an incredible 12 hours to complete including a total discharge and charge forced from the grid.
I've had this Givenergy AC coupled 3kw inverter and 5.2kwh battery for over a month now on test. It's time to review it and share my thoughts and observations.

Please remember some of what I'm sharing is what I've been told by Givenergy such as the system being capable of automating Octopus Agile and discharging to 90%. I haven't physically tried those features.

Givenergy is a UK brand name for a much bigger Chinese company JMHing. The range of inverters and batteries is impressive from small residential system to huge industrial container sized systems.

There's definitely lots of potential here but currently I feel it's lacking in performance and online features. A few software enhancements could make the world of difference.

I've been pleased to have received good support from Givenergy although a few queries have taken longer than I'd like to receive answers. Nothings perfect in these strange times it seems.
