Preview by Ajay Pal Singh After a staggering comeback in the 2nd Test, Pakistan have their eyes on a series win at home. They defeated England on a used surface in Multan with spinners taking all 20 wickets. The third and final Test of the series will be played in Rawalpindi and the hosts are once again preparing a raging turner. Both teams have announced their playing XI. Pakistan have decided to go in with the same playing XI that got them over the line in Multan. On the other hand, The visitors have made two changes to their XI that featured in the second Test. Gus Atkinson and Rehan Ahmed come into the side in place of Matthew Potts and Brydon Carse. Pakistan left-arm quick Mir Hamza was not available for selection as he had a niggle in his right glute. Pakistan spinners outperformed the English spinners in Multan and the preparations from the ground staff in Rawalpindi have been to create a similar surface for the third and final Test with the series level at 1-1. Sajid Khan and Nauman Ali were almost unplayable on a rank-turner in Multan in the second Test. Batting first, Pakistan posted 366 runs thanks to a fine century by Kamran Ghulam, who got to the milestone in his first-ever outing in Test cricket. Saim Ayub scored a half-century (77) while Mohammad Rizwan (41) and Aamir Jamal (37) also chipped in with handy knocks to take the hosts over the 350-mark. In reply, Ben Duckett slammed a quick-fire century, scoring 114 off 129 balls. Other batters got start but failed to carry on and convert it into a big one. The visitors were all out for 291 in their first innings. Sajid Khan picked up 7 wickets while Nauman Ali got three. England were good with their line and lengths in the second innings and knocked over Pakistan for 221 runs. Agha Salman was the top-scorer with a knock of 63. Shoaib Bashir picked up four wickets while Jack Leach got three. Brydon Carse and Matthew Potts picked up two and one wicket respectively. In the 4th inning, Nauman outshined his spin twin Sajid. The left-arm spinner rattled the English batters and got 8 wickets. The remaining two were knocked over by Sajid Khan as Pakistan registered their first win at home in three years. Can Pakistan continue the momentum and get the series win or will England bounce back to deliver the knockout blow in the series decider?
