Airport Train to Moscow City | Getting Indian food in Russia

We landed in Russia at an early hour. Aeroexpress (Airport train to Moscow City) is a quick and easy way to do this. Moscow in autumn is an absolute treat! We reached our Airbnb (close to the centre) and it was very disappointing, especially because it was rather expensive but very unkept. We headed out on the Moscow metro and took a metro train and a trolley bus to get an Indian meal at Khajuraho. Naturally, the Desi food revived us through and through!

Best way to get to Moscow City centre from Shermetyevo : Get an Aeroexpress so long as your arrival and departure are both from Moscow. We got the group ticket for 4 (back and forth) and spent about 1800 Rubles for the ride. It's worth the two-way journey. Take the cab (Yandex, Taxi, Uber) if you have too much luggage and do not want to hop on to another metro and do the walk to your destination.

Best way to get around Moscow : Get a Troika card. It costs 50 Rubles and can be topped up at a Kiosk. This is a hassle-free way to travel on most modes of transport across the city - metros, trains, buses, trams and ferries.

SIM cards: We got a Beeline SIM card and an MTS SIM card with a 15 day validity. The Beeline SIM had a Mother and child SIM which meant both numbers could receive incoming calls, while one could make outgoing calls and access data etc. This cost us 1000 Rubles for 30 GB of data and 1500 minutes of calls. The MTS SIM card was to act as a backup and served us pretty well.
