2001 Rallye San Remo & Rallye De France

Next up we have back to back tarmac rallies which were broadcast as one on Grandstand first of all we have Round 11 Rallye San Remo which saw Citroen back in the series having not been seen since an encouraging top 6 finish on their gravel debut in the Acropolis with Puras and Bugalski plus a third car driven by the Super 1600 champion Sebastien Loeb I wonder what happened to him. Meanwhile the other big story in San Remo was that one of the title fighters Tommi Makinen having failed to score in the past 2 rallies had a new toy to play with as Mitsubishi launched the Lancer Evolution WRC.

Then its Round 12 Corsica where the big news there was that two of title contenders Makinen and Burns were to change seats for the 2002 with Burns heading to Peugeot and Makinen taken his place at Subaru. As ever Tiff Needell and Mark James are your guides for this asphalt double header.
