Minimalism: An alternative narrative about enough | Marlous van der Veen | TEDxFryslân
Marlous van der Veen is experimenting with a lifestyle of less, in a world of more. It is her goal to be a challenger, to stretch current frameworks and to offer a different perspective. If you have ever asked yourself "Why is it never enough?” or "How come there is always something newer, better or cooler to pursue?", you need to hear what she has to say about it! Marlous van der Veen is experimenting with a lifestyle of less, in a world of more. It is her goal to be a challenger, to stretch current frameworks and to offer a different perspective. Not because she does not want nor can accept the world how it is now, but because she loves to work on how the world can be. “Why can I not be happy with what I have right now? How come there is always something newer, better or cooler to pursue? Why is it never enough?” After struggling with these questions for a while, Marlous found out striving for more is part of a broader societal mindset: the pursuit of more became a predominant lifestyle. She has embraced the concept of minimalism and started her quest for ‘enough’ by experimenting with this alternative lifestyle striving for less. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
