Leopard Print Ear Wax Removal?! - EP1241

n today’s video, Rhys and Taylor work through three foreign body cases that initially looked like ear wax build-up — but each one needed a different, careful approach.

Case 1 (paediatric): what looked like a solid ear wax plug pressed near the eardrum turned out to be a cotton bud tip, removed delicately with the right tool choice and control.
Case 2 (adult): a blockage that had been mistaken for a fungal infection was actually cotton material lodged deep in the canal, cleared safely and leaving the canal looking much healthier.
Case 3 (unusual): a “spotted” blockage was caused by kitchen roll used with drops, which broke off and became wedged — we explain why this can irritate the canal and what to do instead.

We talk you through tool selection, why some blockages mimic ear wax, and how we prioritise comfort and safety throughout.
