In my opinion Scotty Kilmer is the WORST mechanic on You Tube. He consistently misdiagnoses faults, then blames the vehicle when his guess does not result in a fix. In this video he works on a 1995 GMC pickup, so not even a modern vehicle. He replaces a part that he over charged for, it does fix the fault and I seriously doubt it needed to be replaced in the first place. All he had to do to confirm if the MAF was faulty was unplug it and then start and run the vehicle. if the engine ran better then it would have confirmed the MAF was at fault, this is a very quick easy test that would take literally 10 seconds to do this test. Scotty decided to replace the MAF which if you listen does not fix the issue, he replaces the $10 air filter which helps abit. But he ignored all DTCs and assumed it needed injectors without doing any testing or basic checks. He also grossly over exaggerated the cost to repair the fault guesses it might be over $1000.00, which is COMPLETELY wrong.
This man claims all the time how honest he is and how he saves customers so much money, but I have caught him lying and charging extortionate prices numerous times. He also on countless occasions has failed to fix the problem but still charged the customer and blames the car for being "a piece of crap". When in reality he misdiagnosed the fault from guessing and he simply has no idea how to find the fault. I prove in this video and I have proven before Scotty Kilmer is an amateur, who often gives wrong, misleading and at times dangerous advice.
