Passenger Car Lighting Using 'Rapido' "Easy Peasy" Lighting Strip - November 11, 2016 - Music
Adding lights to passenger cars is very easy using the 'Rapido' "Easy Peasy" Passenger Car Lighting Strip. And if a Stooge can do it, you can do it!
Besides buying them from 'Rapido', you can find them available from various sellers. They are VERY well-priced! They offer easy installation - requiring but few - if any - alterations to the coach interior walls to insure proper fit, do not require any wiring, and are operated using a pair of small batteries that are included with the light strip set!
Of the two, I really like the "Train-Tech" strips lighting better, due to the fact they are a narrow light strip, and are re-sizable. They require a bit more figuring in terms of where the coach interior needs to be trimmed, but they drop right into the center of the roof, and I like the way they turn off and have the motion sensor to turn on again. Also, their somewhat shorter length allows them to fit into any size car, whereas the 'Rapido' light strip is limited to longer bodied coaches. I don't know if the 'Rapido' lights shut off on their own, however.
