Answering a subscriber question: "What was the first thing you did after retiring". I spent 23 years in the US Army, and 20 years working as a Human Resources Director. When I retired, I didn't go on a long vacation, or a fishing trip or visited family and relatives. Nope, no traveling for me. I was still in "work mode" and trying to implement my retirement plan, which was still "work in progress". So, my first project was something I rarely ever had time to do. You know how things just piled up over the years. The garage gets full of junk with things you think you might need one day. Clothing from my younger, thinner days filled my closet. Yea, I was never going to be able to wear them again, but I kept hoping. You know what I mean. So, when I retired, I was not sure if I was going to sell the house or rent it out, so naturally my first project was to declutter my house.
