✨ How to Fake a Font in Your Designs Using Affinity Designer 2 for the iPad ✨

Hey, what’s up you guys?

Today I wanted to share with you how I faked Blackletter for some phrases in my digital stickers for February.

This same process can apply to any lettering you want to add to a design if you just can't seem to find the right font or don't want to pay for someone else's to use commercially when you just need a few words. You can simply create your own! And by doing this in Affinity Designer, you can eventually take these files and turn them into a font somewhere down the line by exporting the alphabet characters you create as SVGs - I'm going to create a full video on this in the future!

Learning Affinity Designer can open so many fun creative avenues for you and has some really cool ways of simplifying/automating some of the most tedious parts of design work so that you can focus more on the creation aspect. And it's affordable while still producing professional level results!

Affinity Designer is available for desktop but I prefer it on the iPad because I can use my Apple Pencil.

You can download from the App Store - there's a free trial option to see if you like it.

I also teach an entire course on this program and how I use it to design my stickers - including all of my favorite time-saving hacks!

I launched a live version in Spring 2024 with zoom Q&As each week for 6 weeks, but then I decided to make this course more accessible and at a cheaper price point. It's totally self-paced, it just excludes the live sessions. You get the same content and can submit questions via email, but it just won't have the community access and zoom calls for more direct attention. Still is a heckuva deal! (I also included the live replays from my beta launch for a little extra help if you need it).
