Rise Up (Andra Day) Cover - Rise and Run

In light of the recent catastrophic Hurricane Matthew, my heart grew sick knowing valuable lives were lost, homes were destroyed, and disease ridden lands took dramatic steps backwards. One place in particular is Haiti, which holds a dear place in my heart.

Although it is inevitable hardship will continue, I choose not to disregard the power of empathy. To weep with those who weep, and celebrate with those who celebrate. It is an intimate human emotion that connects souls, and forges legitimate relationships unbiased by political, social, or national divides.

I may not be able to materially help every victim of Hurricane Matthew, but I believe empathy moves us to support and pray for others long after the tragedy has fallen.

To my Haitian brothers and sisters, this one's for you...
