Ever thought about branching out in Sciliy ? We visit Toaramina and would highly recommend a visit here. Taormina is a very worth seeing city, situated on a hill, which offers many historical monuments as well as a magnificent view of the Ionian Sea and Mount Etna. In the old town you can find most of the sights and the most beautiful viewpoints along Corso Umberto. Due to the picturesque landscape, mild climate and numerous historical sights, the city developed into one of the most important tourist centers in Sicily in the 19th and 20th centuries. What can we say? Taormina LIVES up to the HYPE! An exquisite hilltop town with a magical atmosphere.

Could it possibly be the most beautiful town in Sicily? we are certainly glad we checked it out on our recent cruise.Everything is within walking distance in Taormina, though you might encounter a steep climb now and then -- this is a hilltop town. Just about everything to see in Taormina unfolds from the main drag, Corso Umberto I, which slices through town from Porta Messina, in the north, to Porta Catania, in the south.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Taormina and were really glad we did this excursion (also the trip was late getting back to the ship, so even more glad we did this with MSC).
If you sail World Europa then check out Raj Polo Tea House, afternoon tea at 3.00p.m. (if you have the drinks package then the price of the tea was discounted off against our package).

One area we regularly visited was the Gin Bar, MSC has excellent friendly staff that we were happy to let them make a different gin every day for us. You will be amazed. As ever on all MSC Cruises do not miss the White Party. Age is just a number - from yourself into it and dance the night away.
It's a must do event on MSC.
