Vacuum tube Deltahet/FRG7
Receiving the very first signals on my newly built Deltahet. This was a Wadley Loop design based on the magazine article of 1963 by Ian Pogson. I repurposed an old FRG7 to gain access to all the nice dial drives and case, the chassis was cut out with a disk grinder and alloy panels became the new deck. All valves were what I had, mainly 6BA6 and 6BH6, the coils were all rewound TV components. LOTS of work still required and a few spurs and birdies to track down and supress. But its working!!! I need to address the 40 meg bandpass filter, its too wide, the 37.5 loop IF is too narrow for easy megacycle tuning. The tuneable IF uses a ECH81 mixer, this all works fine , the anode bend detector will become a product detector with CIO injection for SSB. This makes a total of SIX mixers and a valve count of 16 I think.
