DIY 8" NEWTONIAN TELESCOPE COMPLETE BUILD

In this video I show you how to build an 8" Newtonian reflector telescope. I go over the different parts of a telescope and show you how it can be built with parts and material that can be found at most hardware stores. Main components can be ordered online at various websites.

Mirror set: D203F800 Primary Mirror + Secondary Mirror purchased on Ebay
for $115 USD
Focuser: 2" Orion 13039 Crayford-style purchased on Amazon for $85 USD
Spotter Scope: Celestron 51630 Pointer Red Dot Amazon $21 USD
Tube: 10" Concrete Form Tube special order from Lowe's $12 USD
ScopeStuff #FLK2 Black Flocking Ebay $40 USD
Bondo Fiberglass Resin and Cloth $30 USD (any store)

I didn't go into any details about the eyepieces I chose because I don't want to recommend anything that is rubbish. This is what I am starting out with: 8-24mm Zoom Datyson/Acouto found on Amazon for $32 USD. Next I went with the Gosky Astronomical Telescope Accessory Kit found also on Amazon for $80. It comes with a 2X Barlow and filters and it seems pretty good so far for the price. The Astromania Laser Alignment tool for $25 works good 4.5 out of 5 stars I would say. It can't be adjusted, but it was true out of the box.

This was my first attempt at shooting and editing my own video, so please be kind! I tried to give enough details without showing you every tiny step along the way.

Now go out there and enjoy the heavens that God created and may God bless you! Thanks for watching and may the skies be clear.
