About Col de la Loze via Meribel from Brides-les-Bains
The road to Col de la Loze is a threat for cyclists looking for a challenge. It is one of the most difficult rides in France. But that should not scare you, because it is also a very beautiful ride and the last segment is completely off-limits for cars. It appeared as the stage finish of the Queen stage of the Tour de France in 2020. The ride starts on a hot afternoon in the charming Brides-les-Bains. From here you work yourself up to the road to the Meribel Valley. The road up to the Meribel Valley is a delight to those who like hair-pins. You ride through a forest with the occasional glimpse of the mountains. As you get out of the forest the hair-pins ends and you have awesome views of the Meribel Valley. The beautiful route through the valley passes through a few villages. Once you get to Meribel, you ride a new series of hairpins until you get to the beginning of the car-free road to Col de la Loze. This is where you will be rewarded if you saved some energy. Ahead of you, you have the most difficult part. The gradient varies a lot on the last segment and you will be faced with some extremely difficult sections with gradients of 20 percent and more.

Add music to the ride:
Most cyclists would agree that the ride to Col du Tourmalet is awesome. But when it comes to music opinions are very mixed. This is why we do not add music to our rides. We simply do not want to spoil your ride with music you do not like. But it is quite simple to add it yourself. Open an extra browser tab. Find a site that offers music (Spotify, YouTube, etc…) and pick the music you like and enjoy the ride... The original sound of the ride has been left out as the natural sounds of the surroundings is drowned by noise from passing cars, vibrations from the road, wind, and the rider's breathing.
