Hello, my name is Manuel Jiménez, although everyone calls me Lolo. I am the medical acupuncturist here at Facialteam. Acupuncture in the post-op period works by helping you in the recovery process because you feel a decrease in stress and anxiety after the surgery. We are going to fight against many things you are feeling in that period, for example sleep disorders, and decrease the state of the nervous system. It’s very relaxing and also helps you with your pain and swelling. I use a method called the balance method, which only uses distal points in the upper and lower limbs because, in this way, we can treat the face from a distance. There are many energy meridians that begin or end in the face and head, so we can treat all those meridians by treating points in your hands or legs. It is a very effective method, because we touch some important points to restore the normal balance of the body after the surgery. I use stainless steel needles coated with silicone. They are very thin needles so it is not painful at all. You will only feel a little pinprick in each point, a sensation that will disappear after a while.

Lucharemos contra muchos sentimientos que aparecerán en ese periodo, como por ejemplo los trastornos del sueño, y calmaremos el sistema nervioso. Además de ser muy relajante es también de gran ayuda para combatir el dolor y la inflamación. Utilizo un método llamado Acupuntura del Método de Equilibrio, que solamente estimula los puntos distales, tanto en los miembros superiores como inferiores, para de esta manera poder tratar la cara desde una distancia.
Hay muchos meridianos energéticos que comienzan o terminan en la cara y en la cabeza, de manera que podemos tratar todos esos meridianos estimulando puntos en manos o piernas. Es un método muy efectivo, porque estimulamos puntos importantes, que restauran el equilibrio normal del cuerpo después de una operación. Utilizo agujas de acero inoxidable cubiertas de silicona. Son agujas muy finas que no producen ningún dolor. Solamente sentirá el pinchazo de una aguja muy fina en cada punto, una sensación que desparecerá al cabo de un rato.
