Sicily villa renovation is no easy task, and in this recap of Video 19, I tackle the overwhelming challenge of transforming my abandoned property into a stunning Italian homestead. Arriving at the villa, I found a maze of black plastic electrical ducting installed by the electrician, leaving the house looking like a spider’s web. Determined to push forward, I used an angle grinder to carve precise grooves into the floors, walls, and ceilings. Then, with my trusty SDS hammer drill, I cleared out the channels, prepped them, and began fitting ducting securely using stones, cable ties, nails, and expanding foam.

Despite setbacks like a faulty cement mixer from Leroy Merlin in Palermo, I stayed positive as a major delivery of sand and aggregate arrived from the builder’s merchant. This project embodies DIY renovation in Sicily, combining hard work, creativity, and resilience.
