Positive subliminal affirmations work similarly to hypnosis or auto-suggestion, in that they are perceived outside of the conscious realm by the unconscious or deeper mind. You don't hear what is being said consciously, so your conscious mind can not disagree with the affirmations, but a deeper level of your brain is taking it in.
