Nazaré - Famous fishing village & surfing spot - Portugal | Ep. 13

Nazaré is Portugal’s most famous fishing village and one of the most popular seaside resorts in the Silver Coast.

First, we visited the beautiful long sandy beach where traditional fisher boats are showcased along the beach promenade where air dried fish is sold by local fisher wives.

After lunch at one of the beach cafes, we visited Mercado Municipal Nazaré, an authentical food-market, offering a wide variety of fish, fresh vegetables, fruits and cheese.

The last stop was the "Forte de São Miguel Arcanjo" which is a popular viewing point for surfing competitions taking place during the winter season. Nazaré is a very popular surfing destination because of its very high breaking waves that form due to the presence of the 5000m deep underwater Nazaré Canyon.
