Former Ukrainian politician shot dead outside school in Madrid
A former Ukrainian politician has been shot dead outside a school in a suburb of Madrid.
Andriy Portnov was a senior aide to Ukraine's former president Viktor Yanukovych, who was ousted in the 2014 revolution.
There are approximately 300,000 Ukrainians currently living in Spain and roughly 90,000 Russians.
Witnesses told police there were several gunmen who opened fire at Mr Portnov, fleeing the scene into a nearby forested area.
