Liu Shikun: China is against war
84-year-old piano legend Liu Shikun is the silver prize winner of the inaugural Tchaikovsky International Music Competition in 1958 when Van Cliburn took the gold prize.
Since then he has sat on the jury of the X and the XVII Tchaikovsky Competition. In the opening concert of #TCH17, he played two pieces, making his second appearance on the stage of the prestigious Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory named after Tchaikovsky since his debut in 1958.
In this first part of his exclusive interview by Music Lover magazine, he states: China is against war and aggression. China does not want war. China does not want war particularly on the Chinese soil.
