The Disturbing History Of Tuberculosis

While you don't hear much about it in the news today, Tuberculosis remains one of the deadliest diseases on the planet. More than 1 million people die from the disease each year, worldwide, and many others sustain damage to multiple organ systems. For others, the disease can lie latent for years, not causing any symptoms, only to emerge years later. Known throughout history by many names, such as "The White Plague" and "the graveyard cough", you might surprised to know that there was also a moment in time when TB was sort of fashionable.
