So here is a bit more backstory on the car. As i’ve mentioned, i’ve owned my 10th Generation Honda Accord LX for over a year and racked up over 30,000 miles. I am the 2nd owner of this car and i bought it with only 3000 miles on the odometer. I have no modification to it other than window tint and snow tires if you can even count those. So, in no particular order, here are 5 things I love about this car.
Bonus… you can still get this car with a manual 6 speed trans.
5 thing is love:
1) Adaptive Cruise Control. - Despite being a base model LX, this car has almost all the new car features i never knew I wanted. The best one being the adaptive cruise control. For those that are unfamiliar, the way adaptive cruise control works is by recoging the car in front of you and keeping you a safe distance from it. So if you cruise is set at 65 and the car in front of you is only going 60, the adaptive cruise will automatically slow you down to 60 until the car in front of you is out of the way. The absolute best part is that adaptive cruise works all the way down to a stop. So if you run into a traffic jam on the highway, you can actually navigate it without using the gas or break. The only minor draw back is that the distance between you can the car in front of you is almost always going to give enough room for another car to potentially jump in that space… so be prepared to get cut off every now and then.
2) Lane Keep Assist- You can easily turn it off - This is a rather simple one, but I love that I can easily turn on and off Lane keep assist. Lane keep assist is nice to use sometimes, but other times it can get rather annoying to have on. So I’m glad a can easily turn it on and off using a button on the steering wheel.
3) This car has super easy access for car seat LATCH clips. Being a parent who adds and removes a car seat often, i love that the back seats have this access flap that makes it super easy to install or remove a car seat. If you are unfamiliar, LATCH stands for lower anchors and tethers for children. Most cars i’ve seen make you dig for the Lower anchors buried in the back seats. On some cars it can be really difficult to clip in or unclip to these anchors. This accord has a super convenient flap that covers the anchors. Simply move the flap for easy access to clip on the anchors.
4) Leg room. This car has crazy amount of leg room. Almost everyone who ends up sitting in the back comments about how surprised they are that it has some much space.
5) No Remote start, no problem! - just buy the remote. I have not done it myself, but I’ve see countless others online do this “hack”. The base LX model does not come with remote start, however the LX trim is capable of providing remote start. All you need to do is buy a OEM Honda Key FOB with remote start button and bring it to your local dealer for reprogramming. Once the Key for is re-programmed, your base LX will have remote start.
