Cecil Peoples: Biography of a Pioneer

In the 1970s, Sensei Cecil Peoples stepped into history by being one of only a handful of individuals who were able to transfer from a tournament point fighter into a successful full-contact karate (kickboxing) pioneer. In a time when kickboxing was in its infant stage, Peoples became one of the pioneers that opened the doors to kickboxing which later became mma. The 1970's were a challenging time and the greats of the "blood and guts" pointfightiing era, fighters wanted to take their skills to the ring. It was a disaster and those great fighters jumped out at quickly as they jumped in. Only those that combined boxing, cardio workouts, and speed training were able to survive. Sensei Cecil Peoples was one of those. He also stepped into history again as a well-known mma and kickboxing referee.
