"If you're going down to New Orleans..." WATCH OUT FOR THIS GUY!

Too late for me, I learned that I walked right into the oldest scam in town (New Orleans). If a stranger walks up to you and says, "I can guess where you bought your shoes..." RUN!! DO NOT ENGAGE! (he had a cheap, fake gold grill on his teeth and his charms were altogether LOST on me....). They start babbling some double-talk--then pull out a squeeze-bottle of filthy, greasy liquid and squirt it all over your shoes...and then try to extort money to "wipe it off". Ruined my shoes...and my mood. Get this creep off the streets...I'm sure I'm not the first victim of this guy... I had my camera running to record the nice calliope music playing on the paddle-wheel boat on the Mississippi waterfront (behind Cafe du Monde). BEWARE!
