Dad is reunited with his car.

Dad bought this car used in 1964. He street raced it, drove it to basic training, dated mom in it, taught mom to drive in it, took it on their honeymoon, etc... The car was his baby and I heard countless stories about it as a kid. This car is the car that made me love muscle cars.

Dad would have never sold this car, but before we knew dad had Alzheimer's, he let it go for next to nothing. I've been looking for it for over ten years and recently found it and bought it back. I wasn't there the day he was reunited with it so my nephew took this video. Video credit goes to my nephew.

I hope to get the car restored and take dad for a spin in it before Alzheimer's takes him away from us.

Update: After many attempts, I may have found a shop to restore the car. Since this video, having the car back has gotten dad to telling more stories about the car. And I found some old pictures of the car when it was new to him, him in uniform with the car, and mom posing with the car on their honeymoon. I'll upload a new video of the assessment soon. With the assessment, we will see how bad of shape this car truly is. Hopefully it won't break the bank. Ultimate goal is a video of me and dad going for a spin in the completed car.
