Find Your Dynamics Blind Spot (Dorico/Cubase Workflow)
Free Composer Toolkit: 👉 https://tinyurl.com/5dfyyn4r
1-on-1 Help: 👉 https://tinyurl.com/546ukme3
My Udemy Courses (Cubase/Dorico/Mixing): 👉 https://tinyurl.com/4v9jr9pv
When you load a new instrument library, one of the frustrating questions to answer is:
👉 How does this library actually respond to dynamics?
Velocity?
CC1?
CC11?
CC7?
In this livestream, I’ll show you a simple but powerful process I’ve built into my Cubase template that helps you instantly test and visualize how any instrument responds to dynamic control.
The idea is simple:
• Use a single musical phrase to visualize dynamic playback
• It'll test for Velocity, CC1 (mod wheel), CC11 (expression) and CC7 (volume)
This allows you to quickly identify:
👉 Which control method actually shapes the sound
👉 Which ones are ignored or redundant
👉 How to properly configure the instrument inside your Composer Toolkit workflow
I'll make this tool available as a free download on https://musicchef.pro (under "Add'l Resources" on the Composer Toolkit page. It’s designed to help you assimilate any new library quickly and confidently and I hope you find it helpful :)
Because if your dynamics aren’t set up correctly…nothing else in your template really works...
