What do DiMarzio PAF '59 pickups sound like?

Here is a demo of the new DiMarzio PAF '59 pickup set. They were released in 2017 sometime, and are based on the original pickups in Larry DiMarzio's personal '59 Les Paul Standard. More below ...

Bear in mind, this is a tone demo, not a playing demo. I am but a bedroom noodler, and I instantly forget how to play when the camera is rolling.

My first impression of these pickups was "WOW they are bright!" They are bright but not in a shrill or harsh way. They have an almost acoustic quality to them, as if you could hear the unplugged guitar layered on top of the plugged in sound. They are unpotted, and very microphonic. You can even speak into it and you'll hear it. I can hardly wait to hear them plugged into the Super Reverb turned up loud. I think the guitar will be a handful to manage, which is fine by me.

Guitar: 1978 Les Paul Pro (mahogany body, maple top, maple neck, ebony fingerboard.)

Amp: Guitar Rig 5, JTM model. Some plate and room reverb added in Adobe Audition post recording, for some stereo separation.

Most of the video was recorded with the guitar volume down low. but near the end, I dime the guitar volume and tone knobs.

1:24 - Switch to neck pickup
4:24 - VOL 10 / TONE 3
4:48 - VOL 10 / TONE 10
