Melissa Fumero didn't have much comedy experience before her audition opposite Andy Samberg for Brooklyn Nine-Nine, but when she was put on the spot and asked to improv with him, she says she just "didn't have time to freak out." It all paid off in the end, of course, because Melissa landed the part of Amy Santiago on the Golden Globe-winning series. She stopped by our LA offices recently to talk about the surreal success of the show, her character's romantic future with Andy, and the TV character she'd like Detective Santiago to arrest.
