Bob Forrest Talks About Music and the 1968 Democratic Convention

https://www.OroRecovery.com - Bob Forrest talked to a small group of young addicts on camera at Oro House's outpatient addiction facilities in Los Angeles, California about music.

Music used to mean everything to young people. It used to be about let's make a better America.

MC5 – have you ever heard of MC5? They were a revolutionary band and maybe you learned in social studies in school about the 1968 Democratic convention... did you ever hear of that in Chicago?

You know how they say Now is the worst of times? No, it was way worse in 1968. It's just a big lie, nothing is going on, it's just a big mouth that goes around talking. Nothing is really changing. And the EPA is changing; let's change it back.

But there was a revolution going on in 1968 fueled by a band called MC5 - five guys - four high school dropouts and one college guy. And they organized and militarily took over the Democratic National Convention and caused the riots.

And America said OMG, we're ripping in half, and we really were.
