Building A Long Term Shelter In The Woods - Silky Saw - Bushcraft Shelter - Window making (Part 2)

Building A Long Term Shelter In The Woods - building the door, round window, and the front wall of the shelter - enjoying time in the woods. Using my new Gomboy 300 - 10 Silky saw. I would like to thank the team from cutite-bushcraft.ro for the Silky saw and the other gifts they sent me. It is a very useful saw that was recommended to me by several of my viewers. Cutite-bushcraft.ro have good quality products and they are well known among Romanian bushcraft passionates. I will add links here for my Romanian viewers and for the ones that are curious and interested in knowing them and their products better:

No talking, only peaceful nature sounds. If you want to find out more about all of these and the story behind this video, please read on.
‘’Every spirit builds itself a house; and beyond its house, a world; and beyond its world a heaven.'’ (Ralph Waldo Emerson) That's what I'm doing, building my little heaven in the woods, where I can spend many beautiful and peaceful days. Because I'm building a house made of love and dreams I did not build it according to normal house building rules and started with the part I love most, the most esthetic part of my shelter, that will offer me the feeling I am home, I am in heaven, every time I see it. Of course, I will have to build a nice strong roof to protect it and my shelter, and this is what you will probably watch me do in part 3 of this series. I wanted to build a round window for my house because it stands for kindness and love - no corners, no borders, endless, allowing light to enter inside. My source of inspiration - my inner world, fairytales, my dreams.
The weather here is cold most of the days, about - 7 degrees Celsius during the day, sometimes windy, sometimes sunny, but no snow. One of the strangest winters we had in a while. But if I can build a shelter in such weather conditions, when we'll have warm weather here it will all be easy and enjoyable for me.
I wove the upper part of the front wall using rods and twigs. It was similar to weaving traditional Romanian carpets which I also did as a hobby some years ago. Same techniques, good-looking results, and a relaxing process. For the window, I used wood rods, vine, and natural cordage, and I used dry wood and moss for my wall. I love the way natural cordage looks, so I will continue using it mainly for esthetic reasons. I will also use synthetic, more resistant cordage when I consider it necessary, to help my shelter last more. Using natural materials like I did also makes the shelter completely blend into the surrounding environment, and helps it remain hidden and safe.
I heard lots of birds singing in the woods and deer cry somewhere far away from my shelter. The woods are full of life, a living home for all creatures, its walls made of whispering leaves and singing birds, its floor bursting with life, grassy, flowery, full of fragrance, dancing and speaking to the soles that touch it. They all sing their love and joy, and it seems no one is there to listen. Still, they continue singing and offering a performance worthy of a noble audience. I am blessed to be the guest of this living house. And you are welcome to be the guest of my house whenever you feel tired, stressed out, or sad. You can quench your thirst here and satisfy your hunger for the beautiful. You are all welcome here! You are all my honored guests!

The Guest House
by Jalaluddin Rumi

This being human is a guest house.
Every morning a new arrival.

A joy, a depression, a meanness,
some momentary awareness comes
as an unexpected visitor.

Welcome and entertain them all!
Even if they’re a crowd of sorrows,
who violently sweep your house
empty of its furniture,
still, treat each guest honorably.
He may be clearing you out
for some new delight.

The dark thought, the shame, the malice,
meet them at the door laughing,
and invite them in.

Be grateful for whoever comes,
because each has been sent
as a guide from beyond.
