Industrial Pneumatics: Step-by-Step PLC Wiring and Testing Guide

We go step-by-step through how to wire and test a pneumatic training system using a Compact GuardLogix PLC. We cover the physical connections for solenoids, magnetic proximity switches, digital flow sensors, and gripper pressure switches. You will learn how multi-level terminal blocks can drastically clean up your control panel wiring and simplify future troubleshooting. We also discuss making necessary modifications to your standard input layout to accommodate seven inputs for our upcoming sequencing routine. Finally, we walk through writing a temporary testing routine in Studio 5000 using JSR and NOP instructions to perform a reality check on all field hardware before writing any complex machine sequences.
