The Lone Drainer and Pronto. Fitting a drip catcher

After rain, this house had water dripping from the back verandah.
Over 15 years the constant dripping caused water damage to the cedar and glass doors below.
Before renewing the doors, our client wanted to prevent the same thing happening.

We simply had a small box gutter made to catch the drips and prevent the water splashing below.
The small gutter had a slight fall to drain the water away and now it drips well away from the wooden doors.
The client thought we would have to excavate the courtyard to install a drainage system to catch the water and pipe it away from the doors.
With a little thought and consideration we were able to come up with a very simple Plan B.
It works perfectly!
