Second Card Audio - R5C Recording Modes
Second card audio recording is a niche feature found on the EOS R5C, as well as most of Canon’s other Cinema EOS cameras, that allows you to save a low quality standalone audio file to your second card slot. Since this file is a standalone wav file, it can be easily accessed and replayed without having to deal with large video files. Moreover, at only 16-bit, 8 KHz, and with a single channel, the file is small, but still adequate to understandably reproduce human speech.
While this isn’t a function that most of us using the camera for cinematic, or even just YouTube video, productions will likely want to use. It could be useful for people using the camera in a journalistic application, especially if they need to quickly provide something to their editors after shooting interviews or events.
