Using RRSP's for Down Payment as a First Time Homebuyer
Did you know, As a first-time homebuyer, if you are purchase a property you plan on living in, you can use your RRSP's under the Home Buyers' Plan to contribute, then withdraw up to $35,000 towards a down payment.
If you contribute by the end of February, you will get your refund this year, and after 90 days you can pull out the funds you contributed for your down payment.
So if you have room in your RRSP, and you’re going to buy later this year, why not get a tax refund.
