Huey P. Long Bridge Widening

The USD 1.2 billion Huey P. Long Bridge widening project in New Orleans, La., will have three 11-foot lanes in each direction that feature eight-foot outside and two-foot inside shoulders. Previously, the bridge had two narrow nine-foot lanes in each direction and two railroad tracks. New approaches and interchanges include continuous steel and prestressed girder spans with ramps connecting main line structures to street level. LEAP CONSPAN was used to design the Type III, IV, and BT prestressed girders for these structures.
