08-09-2019 I am waiting for part to create one more wide band antenna signal amplifier .
I want to build a more clear version of this little circuit. Looking for a better transistor right now.
I am using it every day and happy with the result. It became a useful little pocket instrument. Just yesterday evening, a chopper passed near our house and I was able to get reception on 123.0 MHz to find out what it is doing up there....Yes, this radio is useful with this modification.
CB band was quiet yesterday but around 8:00 PM I heard more DX stations again.
Shortwave band ( around 9.4 MHz ) was full with stations. Other bands also full with stations.
I will not replace the circuit my radio. It is good .

ADDED A WIDE BAND FRONT END AMPLIFIER TO INCREASE THE SENSITIVITY ON ALL BANDS.
YES, A BIT MORE NOISE, INTERFERENCE APPEARED- BUT, RADIO IS NOT MUTED COMPARED TO PREVIOUS, ORIGINAL UNMODIFIED STATEMENT.MODIFICATION IS THE SIMPLEST AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE BUT IT WORKS GREAT.NOW I CAN LISTEN TO MY FAVORITE SW STATIONS WITHOUT ANY PROBLEM. NO EXTERNAL ANTENNA WAS USED ON THE VIDEO WHAT YOU CAN FIND ALSO ON MY CHANNEL.SM PARTS ARE EXTREME SMALL AND NEEDED EXTREME PATIENCE TO SOLDER IT ON PLACE.
