Xinjiang in Focus | Still Waters Run Deep

Located in the middle and lower reaches of Kumarak River in Aksu region, Xinjiang, a “giant” project is quietly shaping the future of southern Xinjiang — the Dashixia Water Control Project, the world's highest concrete-faced sand-gravel dam, standing at 247 meters tall, equivalent to an 80-story building.
Once completed, this project will provide abundant water resources for southern Xinjiang, solving irrigation challenges, and ensuring a reliable water supply for daily use. It will also play a key role in flood control and water resource management.
With water flowing and power secured, the fields and cities of southern Xinjiang will confidently step into the future.
